Supervision Received: Works under general supervision of a unit super- visor. Supervision Exercised: None TYPICAL DUTIES PERFORMED The listed examples may not include all duties performed by all positions in this class. Collects coins from parking meters on an assigned route. � Checks and reports broken, missing or pilfered parking meters. Operates a coin counter and bags money collected as required. Prepares and issues parking violations summonses. Provides information to the public as requested. KNOW LEDGES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Some ability to make arithmetic computations. Working knowledge of the methods of opening and emptying parking meters. Working skill in opening and emptying parking meters. Working abi lity to meet and deal effectively with the general public. Working ability to perform assigned duties under adverse weather conditions. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Must be 18 years of age. -2- 6��[�� �� `#� Title of class: PA.RKING METER COLLECTOR II DESCRII'TION OF WORK General Statement of Duties: Performs supervisory work directin.g and participating in collecting coins from parking meters; and performs related duties as required. SuEervision Received: Works under the general supervision of a division manager. Supervision Exercised: Exercises within the unit general supervision over subordinate employees. TYPICAL DUTIES PERFORMED The listed examples may not include all duties performed by all positions in this class. � Est ablishes and assigns collection routes to subordinate collectors. Supervises the collection of all money from parking meters. Supervises and participates in the counting, bagging and depositing of all monies collected and the auditing of bank deposits. Repairs and pe rforms routine maintenance of collection equipment. Opens parking meters which cannot be opened by subordinates. Prepares reports of pilferage from the parking meters. Prepares, issues and records summonses for violations of parking regulations. Prepares and presents reports as requested. KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Working ability to make arithmetic computations. Considerable knowledge of the methods and procedures of opening and emptying parking meter s. Working knowledge of the maintenance of colleetion equipment. Considerable skill in opening jammed or broken parking meters. Considerabl e ability to plan, direct, and evaluate the work of a staff of collectors. Working ability to deal effectively with staff, bankers, and the general public. MINIMUM QUALIFICATION5 Two years' experience as a Parking Meter Collector I. -3- 6"���i�� �� o.. _ Title of class: PARKING METER MONITOR DESCRIPTION OF W�RK General Statement of Duties: Performs responsible work issuing summonses for parking violations in an assigned section of the City; and performs related duties as required. Supervision Received: Works under the general supervision of a unit supervisor. Supervision Exercised; None TYPICAL DUTIE5 PERFORMED The listed examples may not include all duties performed by all positions in this class. Patrols an assigned area of the City by motorized vehicle tagging vehicles for violations of parking regulations. Writes, issues and records summonses for parking violations including expired meters, vehicles in tow away zones or truck zones, blocking building entrances or fire hydrants or in violation of rush hour zones. Monitors parking meters and reports damaged and inoperative meters. Provides information to the public concerning parking regulations, building locations, directions and other information. Testifies in court concerning the issuance of parking summonses. KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Working knowledge of preparing parking summonses and associated records. Considerable knowledge of local parking rules and regulations. Working skill in operating a motorized patrol vehicle. Working abi lity to prepare traffic summonses, keep records and prepare reports. Considerable ability to meet and deal effectively with the public. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Must be 18 years of age.
