WHEREAS, The County of Ramsey has indicated that Tt is desirous
of constructing a sidewalk adjacent to the Otd Federal Courts Building
on Washi�gton St. between W. Fifth St. and W. STxth St. in a manner in
conflict with the City of St. Paul , Minnesota, Department of Public
Works Standard Detail Ptates, specifically brick sidewalk pavement in
portions of the sTdewalk area and stonn drainage structures within the
sidewalk according to plans on file in the Depa�traent of Public Wbrks;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 207 and 208
of the St. Paui Legislative Code the Director of Pubtic Works is hereby
authorized to is5ue to the County of Ramsey or to a ticensed and bonded
sidewatk contractor, acting as agent for said County of Ramsey, a per-
mit to construct the sidewalk improvements abutting the Old Federal
Courts Buildtng on Washington St. between W. Fifth St, and W. Sixth St.
Said permit is granted and made expressly subject to the followi�g
terms, provisions and conditions:
1. That said permittee shall , at its own cost and expense, aad
in accorda�ce with ali appiicable ordinances of the City of St.
Paul and Statutes of State of Minnesota, construct and maintain
said sidewalk.
2. That said sidewalk construction and instatlation shall be in
strict conformance with plans approved by the Department of Public
Works.
3. That said permittee shall pay the costs of inspection and
publication of this resolution.

4. That said pennittee a�d its successors and assigns shall hold
harmless and indemnify and defend the City of St. Paul against
any and all liabilities on account of all claims, causes of action,
suits, and judgme�ts or on account of inJury to perso�s and/or
p�operty arising from or connected with the construction, main-
tenance or operation of said sidewalk improvements.
5. That said pe rnnittee shall renwve the brick sidewalk paving and
replace same with concrete sidewalk in a manner satisfacto ryr to the
Department of Public Works, if the brick sidewalk paving becanes a
hazard to pedestrian movement.
. 6. That said permittee shall within a pe�iod of 15 d�ys after the
effective date of this resolution file with the City Clerk its
written acceptance of the terms, provisions and conditions of this
resolution and its agreement to be bound by said ternis, provisions
and conditions, without limitation, which a►ritten instrument of
acceptance and agreement shall be in a form approved by the City
Attorney.
