WI�REAS, The City of Saint Paul is the sponsoring government
agency in Grant Application G-48-77P0 submitted to the Minnesota
Governor ' s Commission on Crime Prevention and Control for funds to
be used for the purpose of equipment and services known as the
Automated Latent Fingerprint Identification System, hereinafter
referred to as "A1�FIS" ; and
WI�REAS, Minneapolis and Saint Paul are authorized to do all
things necessary to assist in crime prevention and control and may
act in concert to accomplish this objective; and
WHEREAS, Said Grant application requires Minneapolis and Saint
Paul to act together in operating ALFIS and sharing its costs; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the proper City officials are hereby authorized
and directed to execute a Joint Powers Agreement with the City of
Minneapolis providing for a fifty-fifty shaxing between cities of
operating costs of ALFIS; and, further, authorizing other govern-
mental crime prevention agencies to use ALFIS upon the condition
they share operating costs with Minneapolis and Saint Paul in pro-
portion of their use; a copy of said Agreement to be kept on file
and of record in the Department of Finance and Management Services.
