WHEREAS, the Merriam Park Neighborhood Housing Services, Inc. , is a
private, non-profit corporation established to help Merriam Park residents
make needed repairs or improvements on their homes; and
WHEREAS, the Merriam Park Neighborhood Housing Services, Inc. , a combined
effort of the residents of Merriam Park, the City of Saint Paul , the financial
institutions of Saint Paul , and the Merriam Park Corr�nunity Council to improve
Merriam Park by providing financial counseling, technical construction
assistance and aid in securing financial assistance; and
WHEREAS, the Minnesota Housing Finance Agency, State of Minnesota, has
been authorized to undertake a program to provide grant funds to property owners
for the purpose of housing rehabilitation; and .
WHEREAS, the Merriam Park Neighborhood Housing Services, Inc. ; properly
and effectively administered the Minnesota Housing Finance Agency grant program
during the past year and in so doing demonstrated the ability to perform the
duties required by the N�innesota Housing Finance Agency in its home -i�provement
program; and �
WHEREAS, the Merriam Park Neighborhood Housing Services, Inc. , has developed
an application as an administering entity for the Minnesota Housing Finance
Agency home improvement grant program and has so informed the Housing Authority
� of the City of Saint Paul ; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council hereby approves the application
of the Merriam Parl� Neighborhood Housing Services, Inc. , for a twelve-month
reservation of $75,000 from the Minnesota Housing Finance Agency; and be it
