SJBJECT: Release of City's interest in tax forfeited properties
in the bloek north of James between Duke & Richmond

On March 6, 1975 the Office of the City Administrator requested a �
report from the Plaiining Commission regarding the above captioned
property. At the regular meeting of the Planning Commission an
June 20, 1975, a resolution recommending that the property be
withheld from sale was approved by the Planning Commission. This
� recommendatiun was based on information furnished by the Depart- :
ment of Public Works indicating a need for property to realign '
the intersection of Randolph and Shepard Road and the planned
extension of the "Cliff Street Corridor" in the City Thoroughfares
Plan.
� Subsequent to the above action, the Department of Public Works has
withdrawn its objectio� to the release of these properties and the
Cliff Street extension proposal has been dropped from the City's
Thoroughfare Plan . '
Because the previous objections have been withdrawn, Staff now
recommends that the property be released for sale. It is Staff' s �
understanding that the Housing & Redevelopment Authority has a ;
buyer for these properties and a development proposal is ready.
To expedite the release of these properties, Staff would suggest
the passage of the attached resolution and forwarding of this infor-
mation to the Office of Valuations & Assessments and the Office of
the Mayor. The Current Planning & Zoning Committee at its meeting
on January 6, J977 recommended approval of the release.

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Planning Commission recommends that the City �
release its interest in the tax forfeited land described as Lots 15 i
and 16 lying easterly of RR R/W, Block 28; Lot 26, Block 28; westerly
2 feet of Lot 71 , Block 28, (except southerly 13 feet); Lot 13, Block
28; all in the subdivision of Blocks 28 and 29, Stinson, Brown and Ramsey's
Addition to Saint Paul , and directs the Planning Coordinator to forward ;
this action to the Office of ti�e Mayor and to the Office of Valuations
and Assessments.
