WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Port Authority provides Customized Job Training services that effectively
link Saint Paul employers and residents who are seeking jobs and good career paths; and
WHEREAS, the Saint Pau] Port Authority provides workplace behavior training, technical training,
English as a Second Language training, and other services that are value-added both to job seekers and
employers; aud
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Port Authority seeks to obtain additional funding allocation from the
Minnesota State Legislature to continue its successful Customized Job Training services;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council supports the Saint Paul Port
Authority's efforts to obtain additional legislative allocation of $600,000 from the 2001 Session for its
Customized Job Training services.

The Port Authority has administered successfully customized job training services for
