WHEREAS, It is recognized that crime and the fear of crime
are longstanding problems which concern the citizens of the City
of Saint Paul and Ramsey County; and
WHEREAS, Community Planning Organization, Inc. , in conjunc-
tion with the Association of St. Paul Communities and the Ramsey
County League of Local Governments, has applied to the Office of
Community Anti-Crime Programs of the Law Enforcement Assistance
Administration, United States Department of Justice for a commun-
ity anti-cri.me program grant; and
WHEREAS, The program goals of this program are to organize
citizens in the neighborhoods and communities where they live to
take preventative measures against crime within their neighborhoods
and communities; then, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Mayor and Council of the City of Saint
Paul record their support of the application of the above-described
grant application and urge the Office of Community Anti-Crime
Programs, Law Enforcement Assistance Administration to approve
the grant.
