WHEREA5, it is appropriate and desirable to change the Class Specifications for the titles of Health Educator I, Health Educator II, and Health Educator III; no�v, therefore, be it 1 RESOLVED, that the Civil Service Rules be amended by striking from Section 49 the Class Specifications for the titles of Health Educator I, Health Educator II, and Health Educator III, and substituting in lieu thereof, respectively, the attached Class Specifications for the titles of HEALTH EDUCATOR I, HEALTH EDUCATOR II, and HEALTH EDUCATOR III. Assists in assessing needs in developing, implementing and evaluating health � education programs and activities. � Prepares and assembles educational materials including pamphlets, brochures, exhibits, posters, films and filmstrips, slides and other audio-visual materials. Assists in developing and conducting training sessions for staff and vol- unteers concerning health programs and facilities. Assists in compiling and maintaining a health information library containing pamphlets, books, films, slides and other materials; compiles and main- tains health information resource file. Assists in organizing and conducting health education meetings and confer- ences for community groups and organizations; reads, selects and dis- tributes health education ma.terials. Assists in preparing publicity materials including news releases, radio and television copy and related art materials. Assists in coordinating and supplying specific health project information and training for staff personnel. Confers with people interested in planning health programs, makes recommenda- ions, compiles reference materials and suggests future health agency involvement. Supervision Exercised: Exercises within a unit close technical and admin- istrative supervision directly over lower level health education workers. TYPICAL DUTIES PERFORMED The listed examples may not include all duties performed by all positions in this class. Guides and participates in the development, implementation and evaluation of health education programs and activities. Plans and seeks opportunities to promote utilization of Division of Public Health services through mass media, human resources. Directs the preparation and assembly of educational materials including pamphlets, brochures, exhibits, posters, films and film strips, slides and other audio-visual materials. Directs the development and conducts training sessions for staff and volun- teer personnel concerning health programs and facilities. Supervises the preparation and distribution of a periodic program and activity calendar for local publications.
