2 WHEREAS, the Ramada Inn and Conference Center - Saint Paul, 1870 Old Hudson
3 Road, Saint Paul, Minnesota, has made a considerable investment in remodeling and
4 renovation of its facilities, and
5
6 WHEREAS, the Ramada Inn has contributed and will contribute more to Saint Paul in
7 the promotion of tourism and business thus enhancing the vitality of our city's economy, and
8
9 WHEREAS, the Ramada Inn has generously extended an invitation to the Mayor, City
10 Council and various city staff to attend a gala in celebration of their new facilities, now
11 therefore be it

13 RESOLVED, that the City Council hereby accepts the invitations as a generous gift to
14 the City and appropriates the invitations for usage by city invitees, and
15
16 FINALLY RESOLVED, that the Council hereby declares a public purpose in
17 accepting the invitations and attendance at the gala as a message of support and
18 encouragement to the Ramada Inn for its corporate commitment to the livability of Saint Paul.

Dear Mark:
Enclosed please find a resolution which will need Council action at
its September 11, 1996, meeting.
The resolution is similar to others passed before to sanction
acceptance of various invitations . I have drafted this in response
to the Ramada' s invitation which is also enclosed and you' ll note
that the Mayor and Councilmember Guerin are part of the event .
