WI�EREAS, the City Council, by Resolution 00-871, authorized the Director of the Department of Planning and Economic to apply to the Metropolitan Council for Livable Communities Demonstration Account funding for two development and four pre-development projects, including the "Phalen Village Superblock Implementation Plan", "Phalen Village Main Street" and "Pan-Asian Urban Village", and to execute such 10 agreements as are necessary to implement the funded projects; and 11 12 WHEREAS, the "Phalen Village Superblock Implementation Plan" pre-development project was approved 13 for $93,500 in Livable Communities funding by the Metropolitan Council in December 2000; and, 14 15 WHEREAS, the "Phalen Village Superblock Implementation Plan" project will provide funding for master 16 planning in the Superblock, to complement private inveshnent on the site; and 17' 18 WHEREAS, the "Phalen Village Main Street" development project was approved for $350,000 in Livable 19 Communities funding by the Metropolitan Council in December 2000; and, 20 21 WfIEREAS, the "Phalen Village Main Street" project will provide funding for the acquisition of three 22 blighted properties and redevelopment of said properties into new townhomes; and, 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 33 34 WHEREAS, the "Pan-Asian Urban Village" (also know as the University and Dale Global Village) pre- development project was approved for $85,000 in Livable Communities funding by the Metropolitan Council in December 2000; and, WHEREAS, the "Pan-Asian Urban Village" project will provide funding for master site planning and architectural work for the proposed eight acre redevelopment project at the southeast corner of University and Dale.
