WHEREAS, it appeazs to the City Council of the City of Saint Paui, MN, upon recommendation
by the Director of Public Works, that opportunity esists to make minor additions to the Municipal
State Aid Street system in Saint Paul to m�imize the cit�s allowable miteage and annual
allotment, and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT R,ESOLVED, by the City Counci] of Saint Paul that the streets
described as follows:
Route Location
Cayuga (non-existing) Mississippi St to proposed Phalen Blvd (.36 xni)
Arcade Access Road (non-e�sting) Proposed Phalen Blvd to Arcade St (21 mi)
be, and hereby are, established, located and designated as Municipal State Aid streets of Saint Paul,
NFinnesota under the provisions of MinnesoEa Laws of 1967, Chapter 162.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED, by the City Council of Saint Paul, that all the changes to the
Municipal State Aic3 Streets contained in this resolution are subject to the approval of the
Commissioner Transportation of the State of Minnesota.

Cayuga (to connect to Mississippi St.) and Arcade Access Road (to connect to Arcade St.). The Public Wo akg recommends
adding these new roadways to the city's Municipal State Aid (MSA) System. ���p�+�;: �°�""" �

The City will maximize the allowabie number of miles it can designate as MSA streets, which will maximize the city's allotment of MSA
funds (the city's share of state gas tax). `
DISADVANTAGESIFAPPpOVED
Streets will need to be constructed to meet Municipal State Aid standards, which is the departmenPs plan. Also, since this maximizes the
city's allowable mileage, no other streets can be added unless some others aze undesignated.
DISADVANiAGES IF NOT APPROVED:
The city will not maximize the allowable number of miles of designated MSA streets and will not maximize the annual a1loUnent of MSA
funds.
