1 WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Police Department requests to submit a grant proposal to the State Department of

4 WHEREAS,the Saint Paul Police Department desires to further its efforts to keep the city clean of graffiti througti
5 the Graffiti Inc. Program, and

7 WHEREAS,the grant proposal of$22,700 will assist the police department in purchasing equipment and supplies
8 for the program, and

10 NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED,that the proper city officials authorizes the submission of the grant
11 proposal which declares a public purpose in the usage in the furtherance of the Graffiti, Inc. Program.

13 FURTHER,BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Saint Paul allow the Chief of Police, William K. Finney,
14 to enter into a cooperative agreement with the State Department of Education for the new Graffiti, Inc. grant.
