WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Jaycees have made vital
contributions to the welfare of the City of St. Paul for
47 years; and
WHEREAS, men and women play an equally important
role in community participation, civic service and leadership;
and
WHEREAS, the str ngth and value of the Saint Paul
Jaycees to the City of St. Paul has been enhanced by the
inclusion, since 1975, of women as full members; and
WHEREAS, the requirements of equal rights and
equal responsibilities in a democratic society demand that
the full and complete participation of women in civic-
minded organizations be recognized; now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Council of the
City of St. Paul fully support and commend the Saint Paul
Jaycees for their stand on the membership ri�ts of women
in that organization.
