Supervision Received: Works under the general supervision of a unit head. Supervision Exercised: Exercises within a unit general technical and administrative supervision directly over lower level graphic arts and clerical workers. TYPICAL DUTIES PERFORMED The listed examples may not include all duties performed by all positions in this class. Directs the preparation of graphic presentations used in publications, presentations, studies and reports including charts, graphs, designs, colored renderings and related applications. Assigns staff to design projects, determines work priorities, reviews and approves completed work. Confers with department and division staff regarding graphic requirements, costs, approaches, production methods and related factors. Executes complex graphic arts assignments requiring expert knowledge and skill. Determines and formulates basic design concepts and assigns execution of details to subordinate artists and technicians. Estimates costs of designing and producing printed materials, visual presentations and related design products. Makes recommendations regarding personnel actions. Prepares reports and studies; maintains necessary records. KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS AI�TD ABILITIES Considerable knowledge of visual axt and printing techniques and materials. Considerable ability to design and illustrate publications, displays and visual presentations. Considerable ability to develop creative solutions to graphic problems. Considerable ability to understand and follow through on client objectives and requirements. Working ability to plan, organize and delegate work. Working knowledge of supervisory techniques and procedures. MINIMUM QUALIFICATI0�1S College graduation with a major in commercial or fine arts or graduation from an approved school of commercial or fine arts and four years' eacperience as a Graphic Artist I or equivalent. . �. .
