01-186��I�Iti�L Presented Refeaed To Council File # ���j RESOLUTION FA41NT� PAUL, MINNESOTA � Green Sheet # � 1 O � Committee Date 2 RESOLUTION HONORING CITY STAFF AND INDIVIDUALS AND GROUPS FROM TI-� CITY OF 3 SAINT PAUL'S NON PROFIT AND PRIVATE SECTORS WHOSE WORK RESULTED IN THE CITY OF 4 SAINT PAUL RECEIVING ICLEPS FIVE MII,ESTONE AWARD 5 WHER EAS, the Internarional Council for Local Environmental Initiatives (ICLEn is the international 6 enviroyxnental agency for local govemments which seeks to build and serve a worldwide movement of local 7 governments to achieve tangible improvements in global environmentai and sustainable development conditions 8 through cumulative local actions; and 9 WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul is a founding member of both the Internarional Council for Local 10 Environmental Initiatives and ICLEI's Cities for Clunate Protection Campaign; and ll WHEREAS,.the City of Saint Paul has been recognized as a leader in protecting our region's environment 12 especially in the areas of recycling, energy efficiency, and developing local responses to climate change; and 13 WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul has demonstrated this leadership through an award-wnung recycling 14 program, city building retrofits, the development and consiruction of.
