RESOLVED, That the Council of the City of Saint Pa�l does
hereby authorize the proper City officials to execute a lease
agreement with the Housing and Redevelopment Authority for the
use by the City' s Fire and Safety Services of two properties at
653 and 665 Selby Avenue for the purposes of a Recruitment and
Training Programf said lease running from March 15, 1978 to
September 15, 1978f a copy of which is to be kept on file and of
record in the Department of Finance and Management Services.

acting by and through the

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENr
OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL, MINNESOTA,
(hereinafter referred to as the "Lessor")
and
DEPARTMENr OF FIRE AND SAFETY SERVICES
OF THE CITY OF SAINr PAUL, MINNESOTA,
(hereinafter referred to as the "Lessee")
WITNESSETH:
THAT the Lessor hereby leases and said Lessee does hereby hire and take
from the Lesaor the following described premises situated in the City of
Saint Paul, County of Ramsey, State of Minnesota:
653 Selby Avenue
665 Selby Avenue
TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the above described premises for a term commencing on
the 15th day of March, 1978 and expiring on the 15th day of September, 1978, for
the purpose of a Recruitment and Training Program.
The Lessee agrees to pay the Lesaor One Dollar ($1.00) Bi-Annually rental
for the above described premises for the term and period described above.
The Lessee covenants and agrees that during the term of this Lease:
1. Lessee shall hold the Lessor harmless from and defend the Lessor
against any and all damages or claims arising from the acts or failure to act
by the Lessee, its officers, employees or agents in the uae of the demised premises.
Lessee agrees to provide, maintain and pay for the coats of any utilities supplied
to the leased premises, and return leased premises in a condition acceptable to
the Lessor. Lessee also agrees to be responsible for all repair and maintenance
of structures and equipment.
2. The Lessee agrees to keep and leave the leased premises in a clean and
sanitary condition, obeying strictly all laws and ordinances appertaining thereto.

3. Lessee agrees the Lessor should have the right without notice to sell,
destroy, or otherwise despose of any personal property left on the premises by
the Lessee after he has vacated, abandoned, or been evicted therefrom.
4. The Lessor reserves the right to terminate the Lease at any time in
the event of any illegal acts taking place on lot.
5. Lessee shall not be eligible to file a relocation claim as a result of
renting this parcel.
IT IS FURTHER AGREED by and between the Lessor and the Lessee that said
tenancy will expire as described herein.
