WHEREA5, it is appropriate and desirable to change the Class Specifications for the titles of Personnel Assistant I, Personnel Assistant II, Personnel Assistant III, and Personnel Assistant IV; now, therefore, be it RESOLVEU, that the Civil Service Rules be amended by striking from Section 49 the Class Specifications for the titles of Personnel Assistant I, Personnel Assistant II, Personnel Assistant III, and Personnel Assistant IV, and by substituting in lieu thereof, respectively, the attached Class Specifica- tions for the titles of PERSONNEL A5SISTA�VT I, PER50NNEL ASSISTANT II, PERSONNEL ASSISTANT III, and PERSONNEL ASSISTANT IV. Supervision Received: Works under the immediate technical and administra- tive supervision of a higher level personnel assistant. Supervision Exercised: None TYPICAL DUTIES PERFORMED The listed examples may not include all duties performed by all positions in this class. Assists in conducting allocation reviews of individual positions utilizing questionnaires, interviews and comparisons to comparable positions and class specifications; makes preliminary allocation recommendations. Assists in performing classification and salary studies through surveys, interviews and reviews of existing data; drafts proposed class specifi- cations, recommends allocations and assembles salary data. Assists in conducting studies to gather data used in the preparation of selection instruments and assists in preparing selection instruments. Monitors and scores, according to standard procedure, written, physical and practical examinations; serves on interview boards as part of selection process and assists in evaluating training and experience of applicants ixsing e"stablished scoring guides and procedures. Assists in listing vacancies and recruiting qualified candidates using established procedures. Assists in preparing and conducting orientation, training and employee counseling programs for City employees. KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Some knowledge of the theory and principles of the different aspects of personnel administration. Some knowledge of the application of personnel theory in the areas of classification, compensation, benefits, training, recruiting and selection. Some skill in counseling and interviewing employees and applicants. Some skill in assembling reports and background data. Some ability to evaluate information and prepare recommendations. Some ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS College graduation or equivalent education. (No substitution for education.) Title of class: PERSONNEL ASSISTANT II DESCRIPTION OF WORK General Statement of Duties: Performs intermediate level professional work as a generalist or specialist including such areas as recruiting, selection, classification, compensation, training, counseling, bene- fits, administration or labor relations; and performs related duties as required. Supervision Received: Works under the close technical and administrative supervision of a higher level personnel assistant. S�ervision Exercised: May exercise close technical supervision over clerical and paraprofessional workers. TYPICAL DUTIES PERFORMED The listed examples may not include all duties performed by all positions in this class. Conducts routine allocation reviews and makes allocation recommendations for individual positions based upon position questionnaires, inter- views and reviews of comparable positions and class specifications.
