The Honorable George Latimer
Mayor, City of Saint Paul
347 City Hall
Saint Paul, Minnesota 55102
Dear George:
I understand there is a vacancq on the Board of Water Commissioners which
you will fi11 by appointment. I am very interested in being appointed
to the Board and would like to receive your consideration.
As you know, I am now retired. after 42 years with the Hoerner Waldorf
Corporation. It is my understanding that there has not been a business
person on the Board for some, time, and I believe there are some important
things a business background could bring to it. With a large budget,
staff, and investment in plant and equipment, business and management ex-
- perience might be a useful asset.
In case you need some background information, I am a native of Saint
Paul and waa educated here from Linwood School through the University
of Minnesota. I have been active in a number of civic causes ranging
from the Board of Directors of Mounds Park and Midway hospitals to the
Board of Courage Center for Crippled Children and Adults. In business
activities, I presently serve on the Board of the American National Bank
and was recently retired from the Board of Directors ot the Webb Company.
I have also been an officer and director of the Saint Paul Area Chamber
of Commerce.
I have no special axe to grind but believe I have the time, experience,
and interest which may be useful to the Board of Water Commissioners in
the City. Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
c `.. . _ % =;:t _--.,
