RESOLVED, That upon execution and delivery of a
release in full to the City, in a form to be approved
by the City Attorney, the proper City officers are
hereby authorized and directed to pay out of the Tort
Liability Fund 09070-511-000, to:
1. Kent Smith the sum of $126.00 in full settlement
of his claim of damages sustained on or about
• June 29 , 1977, as more particularly set out in a
communication to the City Council on February 14 ,
1978.
2. Howard Siewert the sum of $1,197.46 in full settle-
ment of his claim of damages sustained on or
about July 5, 1978, as more particularly set out
in a communication to the City Council on July 13,
1978.
3. Lawrence E. LaFave the sum of $143. 69 in full
settlement of his claim of damages sustained on
or about July 18, 1978, as more particularly set
out in a communication to the City Council on
July 27 , 1978 .

M E M O R A N D U M
CLAIMS AGAINST CITY OF SAINT PAUL
BY KENT SMITH AND HOWARD SIEWERT
Claimant, Kent Smith, requests reimbursement for medical bills
incurred when he was sprayed in the eyes wi th mace by a City
of Saint Paul police officer. The criminal charges were dis-
missed on the grounds the arrest was technically illegal . This
office approves the settlement of Mr. Kent' s claim in the amount
of $126.00.
Claimant, Howard Siewert, was involved in an automobile accident
with a City of Saint Paul, Department of Community Services,
vehicle on July 5, 1978. Expenses are for the damages to the
vehicle. This office approves the settlement of Mr. Siewert's
claim in the amount of $1,197.46 .
Claimant, Lawrence E. LaFave, requests reimbursement for damages
to his automobil� windshield. The windshield was damaged by a
rock thrown from a lawn mower owned by the City of Saint Paul ,
Department of Community Services. This office approves the
settlement of Mr. LaFave's claim in the amount of $126.00.
