� WHEREAS, the current speed limit on East Seventh Street between Lafayette Road and
Z Eichenwald Street is presently 35 miles per hour; and
3 WHEREAS, the area has a high volume of traffic that has options for many turning movements;
4 and,
� WHEREAS, there is an ever increasing pedestrian activity associated with businesses,
6 neighborhoods and Metro State Community College; and,
7 WHEREAS, a segment of this street area just underwent a major streetscape improvements
8 project; and,
9 WHEREAS the speed fimit on either side of this segment of east 7th Street is 30 miles per hour;
1 o now therefore be it
1 1 RESOLVED that in accordance with Section 169.14, Subd'+vision 5, of tfie Minnesota Motor Vehicie
� 2 and Traffic Laws, the Council of the City of Saint Paui hereby requests the Commissioner of the
7 3 Minnesota Department of Transportation to authorize the City of Saint Paul to revise the existing
14 speed zone to 30 miles per hour on East Seventh between Eichenwald Street and Lafayette Road.

of Transportation. This council resolution requests Mn/Dot to investigate.
