WHEREAS, it is appropriate and desirable to change the Class Specifications for the titles of Arborist I and Arbori�st II; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, that the Civil Service Rule s be amended by striking £rom Section 49 the Class Specifications for the titles of Arborist I and Arborist II, and substituting in lieu thereof, respectively, the attached Class Specifications for the titles of ARBORIST I and ARBORIST II. Assists in planning work schedules for tree trimming and landscaping crews. Prepares preliminary studies regarding proposed arboriculture and land- scaping programs. Prepares draft reports and recommendations cancerning activities of present operating projects and programs. Supervision Exercised: Exercises within a unit general supervision through subordinate supervisors over skilled and unskilled laboring workers. TYPICAL DUTIES PERFORMED The listed examples may not include all duties performed by all positions in this class. Answers emergency calls regarding storm damage; enforces City ordinances regarding trees; prepares tree planting or tree removal contracts. biakes inspections for diseased and insect-infested trees. Inspects construction or utility installations to determine if trees will be affected; investigates complaints regarding trees. Assists in the supervision of tree planting and nursery operations. Assists in prescribing special formula for insecticides and fertilizers. Determines need and recommends the purchase and maintenance of forestry equipment and supplies.
