1 WHEREAS, the State of Minnesota has created a Youth Initiative (Bonding) Grant Program
2 pursuant to 1996 Laws of Minnesota, Chapter 463, Section 4, to make available funding for parks and
3 recreation buildings to provide youth enrichment activities during non-school hours, and
4 WHEREAS, the Saint Paul City Council by its resolutions 99-883 and 01-692 has approved a Youth
5 Initiative Grant project for the City Academy - Wilder Recreation Center, in the amount of $805,000.00,
6 financed by the Youth Initiative Grant Program ($485,000.00) and City Academy District 4000
7 ($320,000.00), and
8 WHEREAS, the CityAcademy District 4000 is located in the Wilder Recreation Center under Lease
9 Agreement CS/10, approved in 1997 and is an integral part of the planning and programming of the Center,
10 and
11 WHEREAS, the City Academy District 4000 has committed an additional $100,000.00 to complete
12 projectfunding,
13 NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Saint Paul, upon
14 recommendation of the Mayor and the positive advice of the Long Range Capital Improvement Budget
15 Committee, that $100,000.00 is available for appropriation in the 1999 Capital Improvement Budget, and
16 said 1999 budget, as heretofore adopted and amended by the Council, is hereby further amended as follows:

Re: City Academy Lease Payments
The 2001/2002 lease agreement between the City of saint Paul and the City Academy
includes a monthly lease payment of $10,000. Up to $100,000 of the total lease payment
will be directed to the addition and remodeling project, as we have agreed with the City
Academy.
