1 WHEREAS, Mayor-Elect Randy Kelly's Transition and Inaugural Committee has
2 planned a number of inaugural events from January 2, through January 6, 2002 and wishes to
3 invite the City Councilmembers and spouses to attend; and
4
5 WHEREAS, certain of those events have a minimal fee to cover expenses and the
6 Transition and Inaugural Committee would make up to four tickets for each event available to
7 the City Council; and
9 WHEREAS, attendance at these events by the Councilmembers in their official capacity
10 will help to build a good relationship between the Council and the new Mayor and his
11 administration, and as such provides a public purpose; now, therefore be it
12
13 RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul hereby accepts the generous
14 contribution of up to four tickets for each of the inaugural events being planned, thanks the
15 Transition and Inaugural Committee and appropriates the contributions to the individual use by
16 the councilmembers and their spouses.
