Section 1.

That the Zoning Ma.p of Saint Paul, Sheet No. 11, as incorporated
by reference in Section 60.401 of the Saint �aul Legislative Code, is
hereby amended as follows:
The property on the Northwe�t corner of Edmund
Avenue and Grotto Street, mare particularly described
as followss .
Lot 30, Chute Brother' s Division No. 11,
is rezoned from RT-1 to �-2.
Section 2,
This ordinance shall take force and effect in thirty (30)

Dear Madam:
This is written in response to the long form petition of Jay W. Montpetit to.
rezone from RT-1 (Two-Family Townhouse) to B-2 (Community Business) property
located on the northwest corner of Edmund and Grotto.
This matter was heard by the Current Planning & Zoning Committee on April 6, 1978
and was recor�nended for approval by staff. Mr. Pangal moved to recommend approval
of the B-2 rezoning. The motion was seconded by Ms. Summers and passed on a
7 to 1 roll call vote, with Mr. Hummer dissenting.
On April 14, 1978 the Planning Commission passed by a roll call vote of 17 to 1
the recommendation of the Current Planning & Zoning Committee to approve the
rezoning request.
This matter is scheduled to be heard by the Saint Paul City Council on May 25,
1978.

JAY W- MONTPETIT: A petition to rezone from RT-1 to B-2 property located on the
northwest corner of Edmund and Grotto (#8277), �nd
A petition to rezone from RT-1 to P-1 property located on the
Southwest corner of Edmund and Grotto (#8278)
T�he Chai�nan decided both petitions could be heard simultaneously, inasmuch as the
locations were practically together.
The petitioner was present.
There was no opposition present at the hearing.
Ms. McNeally read the staff report, reflecting staff's recomnendation of approval
of the petitioner's rezoning requests.
Mr. Jay Montpetit, the petitioner, said he was available for questions from the
Committee, and, in response to Mr. Bryan's question regarding possible plans if
the P-1 rezoning were obtained, Mr. Montpetit said there will be paving, land-
scaping, etc. He added that the plans were drawn up by HRA and everything will
be according to their specifiications.
Ms. McGinley asked whether there would be alterations and Mr. Montpetit said the
building will not be altered.
Mr. Hummer noted the absence of a site plan and, inasmuch as the site plan was
available at HRA, Ms. Sur�ners moved that the Cor�nittee table the matter until
Mr. Montpetit brought back the s�te plan. The motion was seconded by Ms. McGinley
and passed by unanimous voice vote.
Upon Mr. Montpetit's return and upon inspection of the site plan by the Comnittee,
a motion was made by Mr. Pangal to recorronend •approval of the petition to rezone to B-2.
The motion was seconded by Ms. Sumners and passed on a 7 to 1 roll call vote, with
Mr. Hummer dissenting.
A motion by Mr. Pangal to recomnend approval of the P-1 rezoning was seconded by
Mr. Stegemoeller and passed on a unanimous 7 to 0 roll call vote.
