WHEt�EAS, The Minnesota Department of Transportation has completed the
study which indicates that due to high noise levels the south side of I .S. #94
between Western Avenue and Lexington Parkway qualified to receive Federal and
State Funding to construct noise abatement structures , and
WHEREAS, Several public meetings have been heid to inform the adjacent
residents as well as the District #8 Community Development Council regarding
this proposal , and
WHEREAS, As a result of this citizen participation it has been determined
that the residents do not want the noise abatement structures constructed.
This was confirmed by the District #8 Community Development Council in a letter
dated April 21 , 1978.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the City Council of the City of St.
Paul advises the Minnesota Department of Transportation that as a result of
the public invoivement no noise abatement barriers should be constructed along
the south side of I .S. #94 between Western Avenue and Lexington Parkway.
