WI-�REAS, the "Active People Over 60" program is dedicated to improving the
physical fitness of St. Paul's senior citizens, and
W�REAS, seniors who have participated in the program have not only improved

their overall strength, mobility, and flexibility, but have also bettered
their outlook on life and increased their ability to remain independent, and
WHEREAS, the seniors who have participated in the "Active People Over 60"
program will have a special ceTebration on June 17 at St. Anthony Park
Elementary School in recognition of their accomplishments,
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council commends the seniors in the
"Active People Over 60" program and wholeheartedly endorses their celebration,
and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council calls upon all senior citizens
in St. Paul to maintain their health through regular physical exercise.

Send to Victor Tedesco for presentation. He will be attending the
celebration. If the resolution can be heard by the council on the
Tuesday before the celebration it can be read to the seniors at the
celebration on June I7.

The 'geriatrics - fitness progran� is co-sponsored by the Public Health
. Division and United Hospitals. This is a successful program worth
promoting. The seniors who hav� participated in the program are very
proud of their accomplishments. �
Senator Wendell Anderson will be the keynote spieaker at the celebration.
