WHEREAS, in developing land use proposals for neighborhoods,
the City of Saint Paul supports the designation of land for use as
active or passive parks or open space;
WHEREAS, Theodosia Kidd, though not herself a resident of
Saint Paul , purchased land when it became available and turned it
over to the City of Saint Paul for use by her grandchildren, their
West side neighbors and all of Saint Paul 's citizens as a place to
run, to play, and to view, without obstruction, the Mississippi
River and the Saint Paul skyline.
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul City Council has joined these relatives,
neighbors and friends in honoring Theodosia Kidd by naming this
� place Theodosia Kidd Park;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Saint Paul
extends its thahks to Theodosia Kidd and names Sunday,� May 21 , 1978,
Theodosia Kidd Day in Saint Paul . .
