271845 WHITE '- CiTV CLERK � /����� PINK - FINANCE COl1RC11 M C4NARV - DEPARTMENT GITY OF SAINT PALTL 1 - � EjLUE - MAYOR � Flle NO. ` � uncil Resolution � Presented By Referred To Committee: Date Out of Committee By Date WHEREAS, The City Council pursuant to Ordinance No. 15311 , Council File No. 260426, adopted January 23, 1973, did hold a public hearing on March 21 , 1978, in the City Council Chambers for the purpose of establishing the level of service of St�eet Maintenance to be performed in the City of Saint Paul and the amount of service charges to be levied against benefited property; and WHEREAS, The Council of the City of Saint Paul did determine that the program of Street Maintenance Services to be performed within the City should be in the manner as set forth and described in the attached report of the Department of Public Works; and WHEREAS, The Department of Public Works did perform the Street Maintenance Services in a manner as set forth and described in the attached report of the Department of Public Works; and WHEREAS, Pursuant to Ordinance No. 15311 , the Department of Public Works has submitted to the Department of Finance and Management Services a report showing the total cost of Street Maintenance to be $3,670,000.00, a copy of such report has heretofore been detivered to the City Council ; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the City shall pay $1 ,147,000.00 of the cost of Street Maintenance by using Municipal State Aid ($592,000.00) Trunk Highway Aid ($209,000.00) and County Aid ($346,0OO,OU) ; and be it further RESOLVED, That $2,523,000.00 shall be assessed against benefited property according to the following rates: Class I - Downtown - $.93 per front foot. Class II - Outlying Commercial and Arterial Streets - Commercial Property - $.63 per front foot. Residential Property - $.31 per front foot. SUBMISSION OF PROJECT REQUESTS All requests for residential street paving are due in the City Budget Director' s Office, Room 367 City Hall , 55102, by no later than Monday, October 2, 1978• Forms for requesting funding consideration ("Request for 1979 Residential Street Paving") are included in this mailing and can also be obtained by calling Public Works, 298-5311 or the Budg�t Section, 29$-4323. 6efore a District Council submits a project request to the City, Tom Kuhfeld, Ed Tio or Dan Dunford can be called (298-5311) , and they will review the project to make sure it meets the criteria. (It is especially important to avoid conflict with future storm sewer construction) .
