RES�JLVED, That the proper City officials are hereby authorized
and directed to execute an Agreement with the County of Ramsey where-
by the City will provide the County with the services of a person
far technical �ssistance and preparation of Public Health Education
Materials for a period of six months commencing July 1, 19781 the
City to be paid the sum .of $9,689.00 by the County for said services.

BETWEEN RAMSEY COUNTY AND THE CITY OF ST. PAUL, IrIld
FOR
HEALTH EDUCATION SERVICES
THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this first day of July, 1978,
by and between the County of Ramsey, a political subdivision of tbe State
of Minnesota, hereinafter refened to as Ramsey County, and the City of
St. Paul, a municipal corporation of the State of Minnesota, hezeinafter
. referred to as the Contzactor.
WHEREAS, the Contractor has the staff and facilities for the techni-
. cal assistance and preparation of h�altli education msteifals and Ramsey
County presently has no such ataff available to it; and it is considered
in the best interest of the parties hereto, and in the publfc welfare to
contract for certain servicea.
NOW THEREFOAE, the Contractor agrees to provide at its Public Health
Center, one fnll time equivalent person for technical assistance and pre-
paration of health education and public relations materials as ontlined in
Attachment A.
Ramsey County agrees to reimburse the Contractor in a total sum not
to exceed �9,689 for sueh servicea for a period of six (6) �ntha
co�encing on Jul� 1, 1978.
The Contractor agrees to submit to the Ramsey County Co�anunity Health
Services, 906 American Center Building, 150 East Kellogg Boulevard, St. Paul,
, a quarterly report of services provided. Upon receipt of such report, paycnent

Will be made bq Ramsey County within thirty (30) days.
This Agreement map be cancelled by either party at any time, with
or without cause, upon giving thirty (30} days notice, in writing delivered
by caail or in person.

Pubiicity efforts, health edvcation, and staff educatioa vill be provid•_d
to Rarasey County's autrition prograra, environ.vental health program, EPS,
and the Racasey Caunty Nursing Service. '
Specific tzsks �ill include but not be limited to,
1. Providiag staff s�pport for the ivursing Service's PR Coaanittee.
Th� co:rrnittee meets once per ronth for about two hours. A.health
educaioi would seet uith the co-�aittee to review neee�s, and work
on projects as 3ete�ained by t?�a cor.�^�ittee.
This cor�ittee also is interested in establishing a caonthly mail-
f . ing oz health issues to ce�nLnity psp�rs and senior eitizen
newslett�rs.

A he2lth educator's �ssistance cou?d be us�d in preparing 8 presenta-
tion on tl:e findings to ba used to introduce u:unicipal le�d�rs to
potentiEl health hazards in their cor�a��nities.
4.� Coardinating the city and county fn:nunization initiative as m3ndated
by the federal gov�rn�ent.
5. Ramsey County is hoping to develop a checkbook health record fcr
Edults similar to one a�ailable for children, Assistance is needed �
in deterznining the fornat and layout for this project. Vazious staft
mernbers fro:a St. Pa�l's Heslth Depart�ent and Ra�sey County CHS vould
�ork �:ith the educator to determine inforaatioa ta be inciud2d. .
6. Continue study of EPS needs in suburban Rarsey County. .
