WHEREAS, The United States Savings Bond Program continues to
play an important role in the financing of our government and in
the sound management of the public debt; and
WHEREAS, By promoting thrift, the Savings Bond Prog�am con—
tributes to the economic security of individual families and helps
to control inflationary pressuresj now, therefore, be it
RESOLVEDy That the Mayor and Council of the City of Saint
Paul reaffirms their continuous support of the United States Savings
Bond Program in general and of the Automatic Payroll Savings Plan
in specific, and urges all City employees to participate in this
thrift-oriented program.
