G I TY O F SA I NT PA LT L Council f�='-�'.g��`�� CANARY - DEPARTMENT � � BLUE - MAYOR � Flle NO. uncil Resolution Presented By Referred To - Committee: Date Out of Committee By Date WHEREAS, The St. Paul Socialist Workers Campaign Committee has requested an exemption from the provisions of Chapter 382 of the St. Paul Legisla tive Code which require disclosure of identi- fication data of each person whose contribution is worth $5.00 or more, and WHEREAS, The Minnesota State Ethics Commission has issued an order exempting the Minnesota Socialist Workers Campaign Committee from requirements to report the name, address and employer of each contributing individual because such requirement would expose one or more of them to economic reprisals, loss of employment or threat of physical coercion, and WHEREAS, St. Paul Legislative Code Section 382.03 (D) (8) provides that the City Counc il shall exempt any political committee or political party or any of their members or co ntributors from the provisions of 382.03 (D) if disclosure would expose any or all - of them to economic reprisals, loss of employment or threat of physical coercion and further provides tha.t a written order of the State Ethical Practices Board exempting an association or any �f its members or contributors, because of a determination , that a disclosure would expose any or all of them to economic reprisals, loss of employment or threat of physical coercion shall canstitute prima facie evidence for exemption, now therefore be it - RESOLVED, That the St. Paul Socialist Workers Campaign Committee is hereby exempted from the provisions of Chapter 382 of the St. Paul Legislative Code which requ ire disclosure of identification data of each person whose contribution is worth $5.00 or more and that all other provisions of Chap ter 382 must be adhered to in all respects by the St. Paul Socialist Workers Campaign Committee.
