WHEREAS, the organization Watchable Wildlife has raised funds for and made
an for the design by local azchitect Peter Kramer and construction by sculptor artist
Phillip Rickey of a wildlife viewing platform in Lilydale Regional Park; and

WHEREAS, Watchable Wildlife has requested that said wildlife viewing platform be
officially named "Bruce Vento's View" in honor of the late Congressman Bruce Vento, who
represented the citizens of Saint Paul for more than 30 years, during which time he worked
diligently to protect natural resources both locally and nationally; and
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Parks and Recreation Commission adopted Resolution
#10-12 on October 10, 2001, supporting the proposal to name the wildlife viewing platform in
Lilydale Regional Park "Bruce Ventds View", finding the name to be both suitable and
consistent with their policy for naming parks and recreation sites; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the wildlife viewing platform to be constructed in Lilydale Regional
Park shall henceforth be known as "Bruce Vento's View".

The group Watchable Wildlife raised funds and made design and construction arcangements for a wildlife viewing
, platform in Lilydale Regional Park and requested that said viewing platform be named "Bruce Vento's View" in honor of
the late Congressman Bruce VeMO. The Parks and Recreation Commission finds this name to be suitable and consistent
with its facility naming policy.
ADVANTAGES IF APPROVED:
The late Congressman Bruce Vento would be honored for his many years of hard work on behalf of the environment by
naming the wildlife viewing .platform in Lilydale Park after him.
DISADVANTAGES IF APPROVED:
The opportunity to honor the late Congressman Bruce Vento by naming the wildlife viewing platform in Lilydale Park
after him would be lost. �
