Exa.mples of work performed: To investigate complaints received by phone, in person, second-hand source, etc. To investigate complaints by interviewing alI parties involved in order to compile the pertinent information on all sides of the conflict. To prepare a documented report of all investigation findings. To act as a witness at public hearings. To prepare in each case study a summary of the important facts, the individual recommendations, and appropriate determinations. To conduct compliance reviews in the areas over which the Department of Human Rights has jurisdiction. To speak to public and private groups interested in the area of civil rights and human relations at the request of the Director. To act as liaison and xepresentative for the Department of Human Rights with oxganizations and groups active in related areas of concentration. To assist local organizations and groups in developing positive programs to educate, inform, and involve these people and the general public in the human rights movement. To answer requests for information and material which may come to the office by phone, mail, etc. To assist in preparing public information pamphlets. To make reports.
