WHEREAS, The St. Paul-Ramsey County Criminal Justice Coordinating Counci.l has members
representing all elements of the Criminal Justice System in St. Paul and Ramsey County; �nd
WHEREAS, It is the responsibility of the St. Paul-Ramsey County Criminal Justice Coor-
dinating Council to provide comprehensive criminal justice planning and coordination for
St. Paul and Ramsey County; and
WHEREAS, The Ramsey County Board passed Resolution No. 77-566, April 18, i977 and the
St. Paul City Council passed Resolution No. 269586, August 16, 1977 requiring all LEAA grant
applicants seeking sponsorship from St. Paul or Ramsey County to first obtain approval from
the St. Paul-Ramsey County Criminal Justice Coordinating Council ; and
WHEREAS, Juvenile Justice Delinquency Prevention Act (JJDPA) grants are awarded to
programs in the criminal justice system; and
WHEREAS, On October 26, 1978 the St. Paul-Ramsey County Criminal Justice Coordinating
Council requested that the St. Paul City Council and the Ramsey County Board of Commissioners
support extension of this review authority to JJDPA grants; Now, Therefore, Be It
RESOLVED, That all JJDPA grant applicants seeking sponsorship by the City of St. Paul
be referred to the St. Paul-Ramsey County Criminal Justice Coordinating Council for staff
review and comparison to existing criminal justice plans; And Be It Further
RESOLVED, That JJDPA grant applications only be considered for sponsorship which have
- been reviewed and recomnended for sponsorship and funding by the St. Paul-Ramsey County
Criminal Justice Coordinating Council .
