WHEREAS, The Council of the City of Saint Paul did consider
the application of Prentice Hamilton for a Dance Hall License for
the premises located at 908 University Avenue at a public hearing
on December 12, 1979; and
�REAS, Notice of said hearing was mailed to the applicant
at his home; and
WHEREAS, Residents and businessmen appeared and testified
against the proposed license because of no off-street parking, the
excessive noise of a dance hall being undesirable to nearby resi-
dents, and the negative effects the proposed use would have on the
surrounding environment; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, By the Council of the City of Saint Paul, that the
application for a Dance Hall License for the premises located at
908 University Avenue is hereby denied because of the detrimental
effect said business would have on the surrounding environment, the
excessive noise said business would generate, and because there is
no off-street parking.
