THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOES ORDAIN: Section 1. That save and except for Section 136.13, Chapter 136 of the St. Paul Legislative Code be and the same hereby is repealed, and said Section 136. 13 is renumbered and amended to read: ��6,.��T i36.01. Wei ht and load restrictions• special permits. 1 The eem��e�s}e�e� director of the department of public works may, in his discretion, upon application in writing and good cause being shown therefor, issue a special permit, in writing, authorizing the ,- applicant to move a vehicle or combination of vehicles of a size or weight of vehicle or load exceeding the maximum specified in the ��a��}e-6e�e Minnesota Highway Traffic fte�ulation Act, Chapter 169 of Minnesota Statutes, or otherwise not in conformity with the provisions of ��e ��a€�}e-Ge�e said act, upon a��-��g�w�3�-���e�-��e-�����- �}e�}e�-e�-��e-�a�#�-g�a��}�g-s�e�-�e��}�-a��-�e�-��e �a���e�a�ee-e�-w�.�e�-ea}�-�a���-}�-�ee�e��s���e �..streets and hi�hways under the jurisdiction of the city. (2) The application for any such permit shall specifically describe the vehicle or vehicles and load to be moved and the particular highways for which permission to so u�e is requested, and the time of the trip for which such permit is requested. (3) The ee�}�e}e�e� director of public works is authorized to issue or withhold such permit at his discretion; or, if such permit is issued, to limit or prescribe conditions of operation of such vehicle or vehicles, when necessary to assure against undue damage to the road foundations, surfaces or structures, and may require such undertaking or other security a� may be deemed necessary to compensate for any injury to any roadway or road structure. (4) Every such permit shall be carried in the vehicle or combination of vehicles to which it refers and shall be open to inspection by any police officer or authorized agent of any authority granting such permit, and no person shall violate any of the terms or conditions of such special permit. Section 2. - This ordinance shall take effect and be in force-- 30 days ' from and after its p�,ssage, approval and pii� lication.
