Joseph Weah, owner, appeared and stated he is appealing for more tnne. Last week, an inspector said he received an anonymous call about rires. Mr. Weah had tires in the back of his yard, which he was told to move right away. He knew he was in violation, and he put them in the warehouse immediately. The inspector also indicated that the furnace was not working. Mr. Weah did not know that was public information. He told the inspector he needed time because he had already called to have it repaired. He did not know that it was against the law to haue a damaged fiunace in his house if a space heater is used. This is a rush period for hearing companies, stated Mr. Weah. The earliest appointment he could get is November 17; however, one company came by today and repaired the fiirna.ce. It is a moot situation now. Mr. Strathxnan asked has the yard been cleaned up. Mr. Weah responded yes. Mr. Strathman asked about the cars. Mr. Weah responded he has two salvage cars in his driveway. One was covered. Mr. Weah did not change the cars into his name. He found out that he could get a salvage sticker pending his repairs. He was not aware that it was against City law to have a covered car in a driveway. Is the fiunace the basis for condemnation, asked Mr. Strathman. Jack Reardon responded yes. Gerty Strathman denied the appeal on the Correcfion Notice dated October 16, 2001. If the fumace is repaired, there is no action for the City to take. Once it is verified that the furnace is operable, the condemnation will be lifted. Mr. Reardon added he will lift the condemnation today.
