Paul City Council to carry out the provisions of Section 2.05 of the City Charter in an orderly and expeditious manner; and 4�HEREAS, i�t is the intent of the Council to conduct an election to fill the vacancy by an open process which affords maximum citizen partici- pation by individuals and organizations and gives due consideration to every serious candidate, now �therefore, be it RESOLVED, that the City Council adopts the following procedures as a rr�ethod of filling the vacancy in elective office: 1. A public notice will be made that a vacancy exists. 2. The notice will invite individuals and groups to submit nominations of qualified persons to the office of the City Clerk by the end of the business day August 24, 1979, with resumes of qualifications and supporting statements. 3. The Council shall schedule a special evening Council meeting at 7:00 P.M. on August 29, 1979, at which all candidates whose nominations have been received by the City Clerk will be heard by the Council. 4. At a subsequent regular rreeting on August 30, 1979, the Council shall elect the person to fill the vacancy.
