new titles and class specifications in the Civil
Service Rules.
RESOLVED, that the Civil Service Rules be amended in Section
3. J. (Professional-Administrative Non-Supervisors Group) by inserting
the following titles in the grades indicated:
Project Manager II Grade 10
Project Manager III Grade 16
and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Civil Service Rules be further
amended in Section 32 by inserting, in proper alphabetical order, the
attached class specifications for Project Manager II and Project Manager LTI.

PROJECT MANAGER II
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
General Statement of Duties: Performs professional work involved in the
day-to-day operation of development pro�ects; may direct development
pro�ects having minimum levels of investment/re-investment and coordination
requirements; and performs related duties as required.
Supervision Received: Works under the close technical supervision of a
higher level Project Manager and the general administrative supervision
of the Director of Projects..
Supervision Exercised: May exercise within the unit general supervision
over lower-level Project Managers, technical and clerical workers.
TYPICAL DUTIES PERFORMID .
The listed examples may not include all duties .performed by all positions in
this class.
Assists in the direction of .development projects; may.be assigned to direct
development projects having comparatively low budgets and relatively
few implementation problems.
Supervises phases of assigned .development pro3ects and monitors projects in
order to ensure that the plans and palicies of the .Renewal Division are
followed.
Reviews .development proposals and .negotiates with Iocal underwriters.
Establishes and monitors project schedules and budgets.
Diz�ects assigned project .services staff to acquire properties, prepare land
sale contracts and .deeds and _relocate businesses and families.
Directs assigned .technical .services staff to conduct design and engineering
� .reviews and .recommendations, to prepare budget and scheduling information,
to obtain surveys, and to monitor construction activities.
Coordinates with: City Attorney�s staff on specific projects to ensure that
tfiose provisions .necessary to the execution of a project are included in ,
tfie .legal agreement.
Coordinates public activities with private activites by directing the
_ espenditures� and scheduling of public activities with private developers,
�property owaers, utilities and others.
Monitors third party contracts with outside consultants to produce work
products _related to specific .development projects.

Considerable knowledge of urban renewal processes.

the day-to-day operations of ma�or development projects with considerable
dollar investment/re-investment with moderately difficult coordination
requirements; and performs related duties as required.
Supervision .Received: Works under the .general technical and administrative
supervision of the Director of Projects.
Supervision Exercised: Exercises within the unit general supervision over
lower-level Project Managers, technical and clerical workers. May exercise
technical supervision over Technical Services staff, Pro3ect Services
staff, and other project support staff on a project basis.
TYPICAL DUTIES PERFORMED
The Iisted examples may not include all duties .performed by all positions in
this class.
Directs projects having comparatively Iarge budgets and difficult implemen-
tation problems; may assist with the most complex` pro3ects.
Supervises aIl phases of assigned.development projects and monitors projects
in order to ensure that the plans and policies of the .Renewal Division are
followed.
Solicits development proposals, .negotiates with local underwriters, and
makes recommendations as to which proposal to aceept.
Establishes� and monitors pro3ect schedules and budgets.
Directs assigned project .services staff to acquire properties, prepare land
sale contracts and .deeds, and .relocate businesses and families.
Directs assigned .technical .services division staff to conduct design and
. engineering .reviews and .recommendations, to prepare budget and scheduling
