WHEREAS, the City of Saint P is celebrating its 125th Anniversary this
week, and
WHEREAS , many city and community groups are participating in the 125th
program and are being recognized for their contributions to the City of
Saint Paul , and
WHEREAS, Friday , October 12, has been designated as BUSINESS , LABOR AND
INDUSTRY pAY, and
WHEREAS , business and industry did play an important role in the settle-
ment, development and economic well -being of our city during the past
125 years , and
WHEREAS , business and industry and their employees , and organized labor
and its members , have made substantial contributions to our city' s social
and cultural life,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT
PAUL that we hereby designate Friday, October 12, 1979, as BUSINESS, LABOR
AND INDUSTRY DAY in the City of Saint Paul , and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL commend and �thank the
business , labor and industry organizations of our city on the important
role they have played in the development of our city during its first
125 years , and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL appreciates the support
and cooperation that it has , and is currently receiving , from the Saint
Paul Trades and Labor Assembly and its affiliated grou�s , :fand from the
Saint Paul Area Chamber of Commerce and its members a�'d a�`filiated groups ,
and for the spirit of cooperation that exists between labor , business and
government in Saint Paul in working for the betterment of our community
today and in the future .
