An Administrative Resolution revising the class
specification for the title of Police Records Clerk
in the Civil Service Rules.
RESOLVED, that the Civil Service Rules be amended in Section 32
by striking out the class specification for Police Records Clerk and by
substituting in lieu thereof the attached class specification for Police
Records Clerk.

Title of class:
POLICE RECORDS CLERK
Duties and responsibilities:
Under supervision, to be responsible for the review of all police reports;
to supervise the typing of police reports on an assigned shift; and to
perform related work as assigned.
Examples of work performed:
To code the police reports in accordance with the rules of the Crime
Reporting Handbook of the F.B.I. and to see that the proper divisions
receive copies of the report.
To see that a report has been made on every police call requirfng a report.
To see that the police reports are complete and correct.
To compile the daily report for the Chief of Police showing all crimes
committed, arrests made, tags issued and the number of accidents.
To supervise police stenographers and typists on the afternoon and
midnight shifts.
To type reports and to assist in other clerical work as needed.
Minimum qualifications:
Six years' clerical experience, two years of which must have been as a
Clerk III or equiva].ent. Must be able to type.
