WHEREAS, there is a vacancy in Council S1rd.t F on the St. Paul City Council,
now therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the St. Paul City Counci], hereby declare, according to
Section 2.04 of the St. Paul City Charter, that Council. Seat F is hereby
declared vacant, and be it further
RESOLVED, that according to Section 2.05 of the City Charter, that "if an
elective office becomes vacant, the council shall elect a qualified voter
of the city to fill the same for the remainder of the unexpired term.
If a tie vote occurs in the filling of a vacancy in the office of
councilman, the ma.yor shall vote to break the tie.", and be it further
RESOLVED, that on Wednesday, August 29, at 7:00 p.m. , the St. Paul City
Council shall meet for the nnly purpose and item of business to screen
the prospective candidates for Council Seat F, and be it further
RESOLVED, that the prospective candidates ahall be allotted up to three
minutes to present any statements that the cand3.date may wish, and be it
further
RESOLVED, that the order in which the prospective cand3dates speak sha11
be determined by al�.phebetical order, and be it further
RESOLVED, that questions of candidates be limited to members of the City
Council only, and those questions be asked after al1 candidates have spoken,
and be it finally
RESOLVED, that if any councilmembers have any questions of any of the
candidates the question and answer shall be outside of the candidates
three minute allotment.
