WHEREAS, Harry Springer has been General Manager of the
Metropo�itan Transit Commission/Transit Operating Division
since 1970 and will be leaving the Twin Cities area to establish
modern transit services in Saudi Arabia; and -
WHffREAS, Harry Springer has supervised the rapid growth
and efficient development of expanded transit service in the
Twin Cities metropolitan area; and
WH�REAS, Harry Springer has brought national recognition
to the Metropolitan Transit Co►runission through the introduction
of inno�rative marketing programs , specialized transit services
for the' handicapped, and a wide range of capital improvements
that haNe increased the Commission's capacity to provide
servi ce,; and
WHEREAS, Harry Springer is a respected member of the
transit' industry who has been recognized for his successful
manage�'ent practices and his constant adherence to the highest
standards of his profession; so, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that this Council , on its own behalf and on
behalf of the people of St. Paul , corr�nends Harry Springer and
herein expresses its profound appreciation and gratitude for
the ou�standing job he has done; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Council extends to Harry Springer,
his wi�e, Kelley, and his family its congratulations and best
wishes 'for continued success in all future endeavors.
