RE: Background Information on Orchard Building and Site Development
In conjunction with the Division of Parks and Recreation's request for
an additional $32,428. for Orchard Building and Site Development, I
have prepared' a short chronology of this project.
January 5, 1978 City Council approved a $418,000. budget for this
project, with funding to be appropriated from
CDBG Year IV monies.
August 23, 1978 A contract for the construction of the building was
awarded at a cost of $405,100. This figure has
since been reduced due to design refinements and material
changes. The building is expected to be completed in
June, 1979 at an anticipated cost of $388,000.
April 11, 1979 Bids were recieved for the site development portion of
the project. The low bid was submitted by Robert 0.
Westlund Construction Company at $198,928.
The funds appropriated for this project and the costs anticipated are:

LAWCON(grant, site only) 86,000.
LCMR ( grant, site only) 43,000.
LCMR ( grant for tennis 7,500.
