TO: Members of the Saint Paul City Council

DATE: April 9, 1979
SUBJECT: Staff Appointment
With the attached resolution I am hereby requesting City Council
approval of the appointment of Gail Weinstein to the position of
Administrative Aide to the Mayor. Her salary will be $13, 011.
Ms. Weinstein has applied to the University of Minnesota Law
School, but will request a one-year deferral in order to remain
on my staff. Over this past year she has worked as an Urban
Corps Intern.
TIithin the 1979 adopted budget, there remains one unfilled
budgeted FTE slot in the Mayor' s Office.
Ms. •Veinstein will assume the following responsibilities upon
her appointment.
l. Work with Peter Hames, Director of Management, on the processing
of day-to-day administrative business and on matters relating
to administrative review/evaluation of departmental programs.
2. Work with my Executive Assistant, Dick Broeker, on matters
relating to implementation of the Agenda For a Future Saint Paul
and on the Mayor' s program in general.
Ms. Weinstein is a fine employee. We feel most fortunate she is
willing to stay on in the Mayor' s Office.
For your background information, a copy of her resume is attached.
