1 WHEREAS, the Council has received a petition from Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church for specially
2 assessing costs for a fire protection system for 1669 Arcade Street; and
4 WHEREAS, said petition meets the requirements of Minnesota Statutes 429 and the City policy on
5 assessing costs for fire protection systems; and
7 WHEREAS, the Council has fully considered and reviewed the petirion and policy; now, therefore, be it
8
9 RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul does hereby authorize the above described
10 improvement be made, and the proper City officials are hereby directed to proceed with the
11 improvement; and be it
12
13 F[JRTHER RESOLVED, that upon completion of said improvement, the proper City officials shall
14 calculate all expenses incurred therein and shali report the same to the City Council in accordance with
15 Chapter 429 of the Minnesota Statutes and the fire protection system policy; and be it
16
17 FURTFIER RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Saint Panl, upon recommendation of the Mayor
18 and advice of the L.ong Range Capital Improvement Budget Committee, that the Capital Improvement
19 Budget, as heretofore adopted and amended by this Counci] is hereby further amended in the following

This letter will serve as a formal request to begin the assessment process to install a
sprinkler system at 1669 Arcade Street, St. Pau1, Minnesota.
We understand that Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church is responsible for contracting for
the installation of the sprinkler system and will be responsible for presenting invoices and
mechanics lien waivers for payment of the same.
It is also our understanding that, in the event this project is abandoned by Gustavus
Adolphus Lutheran Church, the church will reimburse all costs incurced by the City
relating to this Assessment.
In addition, Gustaws Adolphus Lutheran Church waives its rights to a public heazing and
its rights to appeal of this assessment.
Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church has submitted it plans to be approved by the
Department of Fire & Safety Services, and Housing & Building Code Enforcement.
Attached is a copy of a ritle insurance commitment, which shows that it is the record
owner of the above property.
