Employees employed in the aforementioned unclassified title shall have their salary range adjusted annually by an amount equivalent to the annual adjustment applicable to employees employed in classified titlesin non-confidential positions ' which are in the same pay grade and occupational group as the ' confidential titles. 2. If, under this formula, any salary of any Legislative Aide would exceed 90 percent of the salary for City Council members, the percentage of increase applied to that Legislative Aide will be limited to the percent which brings the salary of such Legislative Aide to 90 percent of the salary of City Council members. 3. Employees employed in the title listed above shall be covered � by the vacation schedule as follows: I Years of Service Vacation Days i Less than 8 years 15 days After 8 years through 15 years 20 days After 15 years and thereafter 25 days , 4. For employees employed in the aforementioned title, the City agrees i to contribute the cost of $5,000 of life insurance coverage for each employee who is eligible for such coverage, or $3.05 per month, which- ever amount is less. This contribution shall be paid to the City's group health and welfare plan. Any increase in this cost shall be � paid by the employee. 5. In addition to the $5,000 life insurance coverage listed in Item 464 above, the City agrees to contribute the cost of additional life in- � ' surance coverage or $.97 per thousand dollars of coverage per month, ', whichever is less. The total amount of life insurance coverage pro- vided under this Item and Item 4�4 above, for each employee, shall be equal to the employee's annual salary to the nearest full thousand � dollars. For the purpose of this Item, the employee's annual salary � shall be based on the salary as of the beginning of a contract period. � This contribution shall be paid to the City's group health and welfare ' plan. 6. Employees covered by this Memorandum of Understanding shall receive any � improvements in fringe benefits granted to employees in classified titles , in non-confidential positions which are in the same pay grade and oc- cupational group. Hozza Council Presiden Attached is the necessary m mo dum of understanding and resolution which adjusts the salaries of the City Council's Legislative Aides. The memorandum proposes increases in wages and fringe benefits identical to those proposed for the unclassified confidential professional employees in the Mayor's office. As you are no doubt aware, the Mayor based his recommendation for salary increases on increases in comparable bargaining units, in this case PEA I. This item will be on the City Council agenda on the date that the proposed increases for the Mayor's staff are considered.
