WHEREAS , Chapter 454, Laws of Minnesota 1977, provides that
the preliminary engineering phase of the Downtown People Mover shall
include an analysis of prudent and feasible alternatives to a fixed
guideway system that will achieve the development and other goals of
the DPM; and
' WHEREAS , the DPM Steering Committee approved the study design for
this analysis at this November 21 , 1977 meeting; and
WHEREAS , the study has been completed in compliance with the
legislative mandate and in conformance with the study design ; and
WflEREAS , the DPM Steering Committee approved the draft Final
Report : Non-Fixed Guideway Alternatives to the St . Paul Downtown
People Mover on February 12 , 1979 ; and
WHEREAS , the DPM Steering Committee, following the approval of
the report , has transmitted it to the Metropolitan Council for review;
and
WHEREAS , on January 16, 1979 , the Council of the City of Saint Paul
approved (Council File No. 272382) the draft Final Report : Preliminary
Engineering and Related Studies , Saint Paul Downtown People Mover, to
which the draft Final Report; Non-Fixed Guideway Alternatives to the
Saint Paul Downtown People Mover is a supplement ; now therefore, be it
RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Saint Paul approves the
draft Final Report : Non-Fixed Guideway Alternatives to the Saint Paul
Downtown People Mover .
