The District 11 Coalitian .Board has recomnended that the Department of `
Cormwnity Services take the following action to accomplish the above. .
We concur with their recommendation and, therefore, request that you
proceed with the following: �
1 . Acquire the two tax forfeit lots of Wheeler Street from the State.
The legal description of the lots is °Lots 12 and 13, Block 5, �
Marshall 's Division of College Place".
2. Sale of the property known as Tatum Park, located on Tatum and Taylor.
3. With the proceeds of the sale of Tatum Park, buy the three privately
oamed vacant lots on Wheeler Street for park use. The legal descrip-
tion of the lots is "Lots 14, 15 and 16, Blcok 5, Marshall 's Division
of College Place.°

ncxte that Roger Rya.n of Planning and Economic Development informs us that

You have asked that I review the attached resolution authorizing
an application to the State of Minnesota to acquire title to
certain tax-forfeited lands and you ask whether this requires
� Planning Commission action.
The Saint Paul Planning Commission has approved a Comprehensive
Municipal Plan for the City and it has been submitted to the City
Council. Because of this the City Planning Commission is required
to review all proposed land acquisitions by the City of Saint Paul
pursuant to Minn. Stat. � 462 .356 (2) . The Planning Commission
must respond within 45 days, otherwise no further response is
required. The Planning Commission' s approval is not necessary,
but the City is obligated to request the Planning Commission's
review and report concerning the Commission' s findings as to the
compliance of the proposed acquisition with the Comprehensive
Municipal Plan.
