WHEREAS, the St. Paul Ramsey Medical Education and Research
Foundation, hereinafter Foundation, has donated the remodeling of
portions of the Education and Research Building at the St. Paul-
Ramsey M�dical Center to the St. Paul-Ramsey Medical Center
Commission; and
WHEREAS, the Foundation contractor for the project was
Stratton-Nielsen Company; and
WHEREAS, Stratton-Nielsen Company did not pay a number of
its subcontractors and materialmen on this project; and
WHEREAS, one of the subcontractors, Twin City Acoustics, Inc. ,
filed a mechanics lien against the St. Paul-Ramsey Medical Center
real estate in which the City of Saint Paul has a fee interest; and
WHEREAS, Universal Surety Company, the surety on the project,
has undertaken the obligations of Stratton-Nielsen Company and
paid the sum of $29,�29.70 to tY�e unpaid contractors and material-
men; and
WHEREAS, Twin City Acoustics, Inc. , has executed a Receipt and
Waiver of Mechanics Lien, together with a Satisfaction of the
Mechanics Lien; and
WHEREAS, it appears that all unpaid cont�ractors and material=
men of Stratton-Nielsen Company have now been paid.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Saint Paul that the appropriate city officials are hereby
authorized and directed to execute an Acceptance and Release

Re: Surety - Acceptance and Release,
St. Paul-Ramsey Medical Center
Attached hereto please find a Council Resolution authorizing
execution of an Acceptance and Release in favor of the surety
of the contractor for the remodeling of portions of the
Education and Research Building at the St. Paul-Ramsey Medical
Center. I am also enclosing a copy of a letter sent to our
office from Gary Davis of the County Attorney's Office which
explains this matter in more detail.
I spoke with Mr. Davis earlier this week and he informed me
that he now has an executed satisfaction from Twin City
Acoustics, Inc.
I would appreciate your placing this on the Council agenda
once you and the Mayor have approved it.
